Boat
Katharina is a 35 meters long, 8.6 meter wide traditional Indonesian “Phinisi” built in Kalimantan using the best grades of iron wood. It is already for many years specialized in culture and adventure cruises along inaccessible and remote areas of the Lesser Sunda Islands.
Katharina has been conceived and equipped to accommodate small groups of passengers for cruising along the Indonesian archipelago, offering an excellent standard of reliability, safety and comfort. Not only is the Katharina very elegant on the water, she is also fast becoming a classic yacht as very few of these original designs remain.
Katharina was built in 1995, but always much attention has been given to the vessel's maintenance, heeding to an annual docking period and periodical checks to the all major technical installations on board.
Katharina provided with all kinds of sea entertainment like sea-fishing gears, kayaks, body boards and snorkel gears. as well as cooking classes, free-diving, rock climbing, kite surfing, wake boarding, etc.
If you wish to sleep outside of your cabin on the deck during the cruise, there are also number of light sleeping bags and special mattresses available.
Katharina do NOT offer Scuba Diving on board. Depending on itinerary, and the notice of dive interest at the time of booking, we can arrange an opportunity for guests on board to do scuba dive, it's for private charter only, we could arrange scuba diving up to 2 dives a day for maximum of 8 divers per charter.
Cabin
Katharina has 6 comfortable cabins, it can welcome up to 12 guests.
All cabins offer all necessary amenities including private bathrooms, individually controlled AC and storage space including a minisafe for valuables.

Whale Sharks, Corals & Dragons | Bali - Komodo
Day 1 :After breakfast in our South Bali hotel meeting point. Visit water palaces, ancient villages, see lush rice terraces and jungles and the islands volcanic peaks, and dine on some of Bali’s freshest and most delicious traditional cuisine. In the late afternoon you will arrive at your beachside resort in East Bali and have a chance to unwind, swim, or have a snorkelling lesson with your tour guide. In the evening join all your fellow guests for a welcome dinner and drinks in the hotel’s beachside restaurant.
Day 2 : Your ship and floating home for the next few days will first bring you along the coast to a local fisheries and coral conservation project where you will get to learn about fish reproduction and how important the coral reefs are to their success. After our visit we return to the boat for a refreshing lunch on the water, wind willing we start our sail across the famous Wallace Line, the deep-sea boundary that has separated Asia's biological system from Australia's biological system including there people for many years. At our first opportunity we will snorkel above the incredibly diverse and beautiful coral reefs located on the eastern side of the Wallace line.
Day 3 : Wake up off the coast of a small Island under the gaze of Lombok’s towering Mt Rinjani, the largest volcanic peak in Indonesia, and spend the morning swimming, snorkelling and exploring. Visit a village of the famous Bajao ‘Sea Gypsies’ of Southeast Asia, and see how they live their lives so close to, on and in the water.
Day 4 : We wake up early off the northern coast of Sumbawa, where we hope to swim with a group of awe-inspiring whale sharks. As you probably know, whale sharks are under constant threat due the sky-high value of their fins, but thanks to your visit with us, these fishermen are paid a healthy fee for spotting where the whale sharks are and letting us in the water by their boat platforms to be up-close to one of the largest creatures in the ocean. As a result the fisherman are very glad to protect these beautiful animals and you get to be a conservationist. Swim, snorkel, kayak and paddle board in the crater lake on Satonda Island, whose caldera filled by water from a tsunami caused by a massive volcanic event from the nearby Tambora Volcano, which in 1815 was the largest eruption in recorded history. Drink sunset cocktails as we float on the current while tens of thousands of giant fruit bats emerge from their forest lair and fly out directly over the boat on their nightly foraging missions.
Day 5 : Step ashore on an active, smoking volcanic island, where local villagers are in the process of building a fifty-plus metre, traditional wooden pinisi boat, with the same pedigree and history of SeaTrek’s very own ships. Walking around this small village, get a feel for their simple way of life, chat with the locals and maybe buy some handmade textiles as a momento. Snorkel on a colourful and vibrant coral reef above small geothermal fissures where air bubbles are released from the volcanic chambers below the seabed. After a few hours under sail, spend the afternoon time on a deserted white sand beach on another volcanic island, this time an extinct one. Explore the magnificent coral gardens, hike to the crest of the surrounding hills for a view of the surrounding islands, swim, paddle, kayak and laze away the day before enjoying sunset cocktails on the sand.
Day 6 : Wake up in the most northerly part of Komodo National Park and enjoy a morning of sea-based activities including a fantastic drift snorkel over the reef, kayaking and SUP at an uninhabited island. Swim with majestic manta rays as they feed on the current and circle the so-called cleaning stations, where small fish remove parasites from their skin. Hover above these giant and noble beasts for as long as you like. Spend the late afternoon on an isolated sandbar, where we will enjoy snorkeling, swimming and relaxing with cool drinks on the sand.
Day 7 : Visit Rinca Island and go on a morning trek in search of the ancient Komodo dragon, the world’s largest lizard. See monkeys, dear, pigs, buffalo, and myriad birds as we walk through the forests and savannas of this large island. Snorkel at a nearby island that is a favorite hangout of sea turtles, where we will have a chance to glide with these gentle creatures as the cruise above the technicolor reef below. Enjoy Indonesian hospitality as your crew put together a beach barbeque in your honour on a deserted island.
Day 8 : We cruise into harbour as we enjoy our breakfast together, before taking a short drive to a traditional local village. Here we will enjoy their hospitality with coffee, betel nut and a highly potent local ‘arak’ (not for the faint hearted), before being treated to a selection of traditional dances performed by both men and women. We return to the boat to enjoy a leisurely lunch and say our good byes.

Архипелаг Алор
Best time for diving
April to November, as this is when both visibility and weather are at their best, while September is the best time to spot Mola Mola. The currents usually are strongest in October and November, making conditions more challenging. From late December until early March, Alor is usually considered as off-season due to the rainy season.
About temperatures
Air : winter months are between 26°C - 29°C, summer months are between 27°C - 32°C.
Sea : between 25°C - 27°C from March to April & October to November, between 27°C - 30°C from May to September. Thermoclines are common year round, the water can drop at times to 22°C or lower.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 5 mm full wetsuit. If you get cold easily, we recommend also bring gloves and a hood, or even a 7 mm full wetsuit.
Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels of diver from beginners to experienced. However, in the open blue, the current can be strong at times, so divers should to be comfortable with their skills. Embarkation / Disembarkation
Alor liveaboard trips are usually from Maumere to Maumere, guests need to fly to Maumere airport (MOF).
However, some liveaboards often combine Alor with other destinations like Komodo, Banda Sea, Raja Ampat. Then you might only need to arrive or depart from Maumere.
Visa Requirements
Indonesia offers a free visa on arrival service for many nationalities which allows visitors to stay in the country for up to 30 days. A list of countries that are eligible for visa on arrival can be found on the Indonesian Government's Directorate General of Immigration.
Please note: Immigration officials in Indonesia may ask for proof of onward travel (e.g. a return or onward air ticket).
Vaccinations
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over the age of 9 months arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
Money Matters
The local currency is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), all liveaboards accept cash payments in USD.
Rupiah can be purchased from all major banks and exchange outlets. Credit and debit cards are also accepted in major hotels, restaurants & shops.
Drones
There are very few restrictions on the use of drones for photography purposes within Indonesia. Please check Drone laws in Indonesia for details.

Best time for diving
November to April, most liveaboards visit Triton Bay during the Raja Ampat diving season, as from June the winds and rain can cause unpleasant sea conditions. However, rain is possible in West Papua anytime, not just in rainy season.
Some sites are subject to strong currents here, and the visibility in Triton Bay might change abruptly. Rarely exceeding 20 meters, it can lower to less than 10 meters, especially after a lot of raining in Triton Bay. Most of diving is shallow dives, no more than 35 meters.
About temperatures
Air : generally ranges between 25°C - 31°C year-round.
Sea : averaging around 26°C - 27°C from May to October, 29°C - 30°C from November to April.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 mm full wetsuit for November to April, a 5 mm full wetsuit for May to October.
Diver requirement

The nearby airport is Kaimana airport (KNG) in West Papua. However, liveaboards may utilize different ports depends on the itinerary, as often liveaboard trips will combine Triton Bay with other destinations like Raja Ampat, Banda Sea, so please ask our agent to know the exact port for your trip.

Температура воды: На Бунакене температура воды держится на одном уровне практически весь год и колеблется между 27°-29°С. На Лембехе самые теплые условия для погружений в сезон дождей - с ноября по март температура воды пребывает на отметке 28°-29°С, а в остальное время года может опускаться до 24°-25°С. В летние месяцы на Лембехе наблюдается наибольшее количество живности, но также для каждого конкретного вида необычных существ есть свой лучший для посещения период.

Комодо

Климат: Из-за своего уникального расположения среди цепи вулканических островов Комодо представляет собой зону с собственным засушливым микроклиматом. Тем не менее, с января по март здесь дождливый сезон - единственное время, когда острова можно увидеть ярко-зелеными. В остальное время года они выгорают и становятся желто-коричневыми. Средняя температура воздуха - от 26°C до 30°С, но во время треккинга на суше температура может подниматься до 36°-38°С.
Температура воды: Большую часть года температура воды на севере парка - 26°-28°С, а на юге - около 23°-24°С. Но во время дождливого сезона активны северо-западные муссоны, приносящие сильные ливни и ветра, температура воды на севере может упасть до 24°C, а видимость до 5-10 метров; на юге же наоборот лучшая видимость (до 20-25 метров) и температура воды до 27-28°C.

Best time for diving
April to October during the dry season, although the Derawan Islands is possible to dive year-round. And the islands receive consistent rainfall throughout the year. If you want to have the best chance to see manta rays, then try the beginning of the rainy season around November or December. The visibility is usually between 10 - 40 meters, with mild to medium currents.
About temperatures
Air : generally ranges between 27°C - 32°C year-round.

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Depending on the liveaboard you choose, the embarkation / disembarkation can be in Tarakan (TRK) or Berau (BEJ).
It also can be combined with Sulawesi (Lembeh) on longer cruise like 14D/13N, then the embarkation and disembarkation will be different, please ask our agent to know the exact port for your trip.
Visa Requirements
Indonesia offers a free visa on arrival service for many nationalities which allows visitors to stay in the country for up to 30 days. A list of countries that are eligible for visa on arrival can be found on the Indonesian Government's Directorate General of Immigration.
Please note: Immigration officials in Indonesia may ask for proof of onward travel (e.g. a return or onward air ticket).
Vaccinations
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over the age of 9 months arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
Money Matters
The local currency is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), all liveaboards accept cash payments in USD.
Rupiah can be purchased from all major banks and exchange outlets. Credit and debit cards are also accepted in major hotels, restaurants & shops.
Drones
There are very few restrictions on the use of drones for photography purposes within Indonesia. Please check Drone laws in Indonesia for details.
Extending your holiday

Best time for diving
October to November & March to April, the seas are generally calmer during these months and in October to November there is higher chance to see hammerhead sharks. From May to August the surface conditions can get quite rough.
The visibility is generally good to excellent in Banda Sea areas, except in Ambon bay and in other bays for critter dives. Currents are low to moderate on most of the sites, however, strong currents may occur at times.
About temperatures
Air : range between 25°C - 31°C year-round.
Sea : range between 26°C - 29°C year-round.
